Mel is an executive with over 15 years’ experience and a proven track record in delivering business, marketing and corporate communication strategies for well-known brands in publishing, finance, property, telecommunications and food manufacturing.
She has held senior positions in large organisations including News Digital Media, Telstra, Defence Force Recruiting and the Green Building Council of Australia leading and developing high performing teams in the development of award-winning business programs.
As a consultant, Mel has extensive experience in leading strategic projects across businesses with skills in marketing strategy, change management, stakeholder management, issues management and corporate communications and she has a proven track record in organisational change and business transformation initiatives with a recent focus on embedding sustainability into business culture.
Mel has a special knack of ‘thinking like the customer’ and being able to transfer this insight into a strategy, delivering programs with impact.
Mel is currently on the Board of Directors for Oxfam Australia and is the Chair on the Public Engagement Committee for Oxfam. She holds a Masters in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing and is a Certified Practicing Marketer.
With more than 25 years’ experience in communications, Karen Jamal has built a successful media and communications consultancy which offers strategy and execution to clients in the property and construction industry. Karen has a proven track record with both small and large organisations across the property space, as well as peak industry associations and government agencies.
She has been responsible for the delivery of over 100 opinion pieces annually for the Green Building Council of Australia; the Property Council of Australia’s e-newsletter which is distributed to 60,000 people weekly; and content for media campaigns, speeches, awards submissions, brochureware, website copy and other communications services for various organisations, including: the Energy Efficiency Council, Sustainability Victoria, Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council, Supply Chain Sustainability School and Smart Cities Council Australia & New Zealand.
Karen holds a Masters of Letters and a Bachelor of Arts.
Susie is an accomplished marketing and project management professional with over 10 years working in property, media and hospitality. She is passionate about sustainability having gained experience as the events and marketing manager at the Green Building Council of Australia for many years. Susie has a wealth of experience developing customer and employee engagement events and activities with companies like Sydney Markets, Westpac and Architectural Information Services.

Dan White is a leading graphic designer with over 18 years’ experience in branding and design. He has worked for some of Australia and the UK’s most prestigious design agencies including Pearlfisher, BlueMarlin and BrownKSBP (now FutureBrand) and is now an independent designer working closely with Eighty20 Communications to deliver beautiful, clever creative executions that cut through the clutter.
Dan has a Bachelor of Business Communications and an Advance Diploma in Graphic Design.
Katie Gannon is a freelance designer, running her graphic design contracting service for 20 years. Before working Freelance, Katie was the Creative Director at EcoFriendly Fashion and is a keen sustainability advocate. Today, Katie works on an ongoing basis with several government and non-government organisations such as Tourism Queensland and the Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions.
Katie holds a BA Communications Media and is an expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign) Proficient in HTML coding, WordPress, Microsoft Office.
Dean is a highly experienced graphic designer having worked in both Australia and the UK for over 25 years. He works in both the print and digital space from initial concept and design through to execution. He has worked with large Australian businesses such as Johnson & Johnson; industry bodies such as the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce; and government organisations including The Countryside Agency (a statutory body in the UK).
One of his most successful sustainability campaigns was the Countryside In and Around Towns program, produced for Natural England. This initiative focused on developing sustainable towns and cities, inspiring an urban lifestyle that connects with nature and the countryside, and reflects our responsibilities to the wider environment.
